CF SURVIVED GOING INTO OBLIVION, JUST BY ONE DECISION.

WHERE COULD HAVE BEEN CITIZENS FIRST-CF PARTY IF WE HAD JOINED THE TONSE ALLIANCE?

Prior to 13TH AUGUST GENERAL ELECTIONS, pressure mounted calling for President Harry Kalaba to leave the noble cause and join the TONSE ALLIANCE which ran on the NRPUP ticket a party led by Ezra Tembo.

I personally had vehemently opposed the idea to join the alliance with the view that if CF was going to join and not be used as purpose vehicle for the general elections in the alliance,we were better off as CF than joining a marriage of convenience which we never saw its future apart from for convenience purposes.

I remember writing to the President of CF President Harry Kalaba that,if we are not going to be the purpose vehicle-better we face it as CF or fail with our heads up and build on the gains that we will be made- A HARD DECISION TO MAKE

Following what has happened, and what  continues to happen in the alliance and its NRPUP TICKET,I think President Harry Kalaba is proved to have made a right decision to go solo as CF,than entangling the party and its credibility gained into the confusion of the alliance.

Today if President Harry Kalaba had joined the TONSE ALLIANCE,he would have been one of the incarcerated leaders of the TONSE ALLIANCE. He would have dented his name to have been linked to the charges of MILITIA and SEDITIOUS charges thrown on the incarcerated leaders. The Citizens First-CF party would have gone into oblivion after building a good face as a viable political party in Zambia which is capable of forming government in future.

Much credit must be given to President Harry Kalaba for not having succumbed to the pressure of joining the TONSE ALLIANCE, especially in the midst where the party had faced massive resignations. Some comrades opted joining the Tonse alliance abandoning the noble cause we have embarked on for years.

Today the party the TONSE ALLIANCE ran on,has left them in awe. It has become a puppet of the ruling party. Internal controls are been orchestrated by the invisible hands.

Wether President Harry Kalaba has been vilified or not today for the decision not to abandon the party he/we have built from scratch to where it’s today,by not joining the Tonse Alliance,was worth it.

He must have been selfish enough for a reason,as a lot of comrades from the TONSE ALLIANCE called him, all in all the selfishness whatever they called it,was necessary than destroying the party built on discipline than convenience be destroyed in days after years of building it.

CF remains the only stable political party, wether you agree or not. NRPUP the vehicle that was used has suffered casualties. Just today,the leadership of NRPUP in the name of Hon. Ezra Tembo, announced that the party won’t participate in the by-elections taking place,so as to disadvantage TONSE ALLIANCE further.

Kudos President Harry Kalaba,some tough decisions are necessary to building a strong ideological political party.
