Honourable Munir Zulu said that genuine socio-political transformation is rarely initiated by the political elite.



According to Zulu, such change is more often propelled by influential grassroots figures like Honourable Emmanuel Jay Banda, whose ability to mobilize large online gatherings – even in his physical absence – is unprecedented.



Zulu warns that unless the state initiates meaningful dialogue through negotiators whom Honourable Emmanuel Jay Banda genuinely trusts, the potential consequences could be severe.



Drawing on historical precedent, Zulu notes that exiled leaders have been known to topple regimes, a threat now magnified exponentially by the reach and speed of modern digital platforms.



He stresses that the state still has a window of opportunity to pursue reconciliation, but this moment is quickly slipping away.



Zulu observes that, at present, Honourable Emmanuel Jay Banda has little to lose and yet holds the undeniable political momentum.
