UPND loyalist and former Choma South Parliamentary Aspirant Joe Muchindu has commended President Hakainde Hichilema’s address during the Official Opening of the First Session of the Fourteenth National Assembly, describing it as a masterclass in statesmanship and a clear roadmap for Zambia’s future.

Muchindu, who followed the Presidential address today at Parliament Buildings, said President Hichilema has once again demonstrated why he is a transformational leader who came to fix Zambia and not to play politics.

“President Hichilema’s address was not just a speech, it was a statement of intent. It was a masterclass in statesmanship. He spoke like a father of the nation, like a vision-bearer who understands where Zambia is coming from and where Zambia must go,” Muchindu said.

He said the President’s theme of consolidating economic and social gains towards a prosperous, resilient and equitable Zambia resonates with the aspirations of ordinary Zambians.

Muchindu noted that President Hichilema has re-written the Zambian story from exclusion to inclusion, from division to unity and from cadreism to the rule of law.

“Bally has re-written the Zambian story from exclusion to inclusion, from division to unity, from cadreism to the rule of law. This is transformational leadership. When he says leave no one behind, he means it,” Muchindu charged.

He said the inclusion agenda championed by the President, including the five seats for Persons with Disabilities and representation for women and youth under Proportional Representation, is historic and irreversible.

“For decades, Persons with Disabilities were only remembered during campaigns to clap for politicians. President Hakainde Hichilema has ended that insult. He has given them seats where decisions are made. He has given them power, not pity. That is leadership with a conscience,” he said.

Muchindu further praised the President for highlighting practical achievements that touch people’s lives, such as free education that has brought over 2 million children back to class, increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) that is building schools in Siamakando, Batoka and Mutandalike, timely payment of farmers and restored economic stability.

“Free education has brought 2 million children back to class, CDF is building schools in Siamakando, Batoka, Mutandalike and clinics in every ward. Farmers are paid on time, the economy is stable. This is what happens when a country chooses work over noise,” Muchindu stated.

The UPND loyalist urged all Zambians, including members of the opposition, to rally behind President Hichilema’s vision for a united and prosperous nation.

“I am calling on all Zambians to choose peace over hate, unity over tribalism, and growing Zambia over petty politics. President Hichilema has taught us that One Zambia One Nation is not just a song, it is a lifestyle,” he said.

President Hakainde Hichilema today officially opened the First Session of the 14th National Assembly where he outlined Government’s development agenda for 2026-2027.
