Miracle Day; Police Arrest 11 People
11 Arrested for Unlawful Assembly at Heroes Stadium
Police have apprehended 11 people for allegedly unlawfully assembling at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium.
This is after a crowd gathered at the stadium, following information by former Petauke MP, Emmanuel Jay Banda which he circulated on social media suggesting that money would be distributed to them.
Banda is campaigning for Justice for Mutotwe Kafwaya, release of leading presidential leader Brian Mundubile and others, and justice for the stolen election.
Police Spokesperson, GODFREY CHILABI says this was after reports made today around 07:30 hours that a large crowd had gathered at Gate One of the stadium.
Mr CHILABI has explained that investigations indicate that the gathering followed a deceptive social media post by an online commentator.
He has added that in the deceptive message, the commentator was encouraging members of the public to go to stadium, claiming that money would be distributed
Mr CHILABI says in the process of engaging with the crowd, some of the people did not comply, resulting in them getting apprehended.
He has added that investigations into the matter are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as necessary.
