VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Ubuntu Wealth Creation Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Limited (Ubuntu SACCO) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following two positions, both based in Lusaka. Ubuntu SACCO is a member-owned savings and credit cooperative committed to promoting financial empowerment and sustainable wealth creation among its members. As part of its growth and institutional strengthening strategy, the Cooperative seeks to recruit dynamic, results-oriented and highly responsible individuals. 1. MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (MBDO) Job Purpose To drive membership and business growth through effective marketing, member recruitment and retention, product promotion, strategic partnerships and digital engagement, while supporting the implementation of the Cooperative’s digital transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Drive membership recruitment, retention, engagement and business growth. Identify and develop institutional partnerships, including employer MoUs and payroll deduction arrangements. Promote the Cooperative’s savings, shares, loan and other products and services. Develop and implement marketing campaigns, promotional activities and business development initiatives. Manage the Cooperative’s brand, website, social media and digital communication platforms. Coordinate the implementation and adoption of digital solutions, including the planned Ubuntu Mobile App and member self-service platforms, in collaboration with external IT service providers. Conduct market research, identify new business opportunities and monitor performance against growth targets. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should possess: A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Banking and Finance, or a related field. At least two (2) years of relevant experience in marketing, sales, business development or customer/member relations. Good working knowledge of digital marketing, social media and business information systems. Strong communication, presentation, networking and negotiation skills. Experience in a SACCO, cooperative, financial institution or microfinance organisation will be an added advantage. Relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage. 2. ACCOUNTING & OPERATIONS OFFICER (AOO) Job Purpose To support effective financial and operational management of Ubuntu SACCO through accurate accounting, financial reporting, transaction processing, member account administration and efficient operational support. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will: Maintain accurate accounting records, including receipts, payments, journals, member savings, shares and other financial transactions. Prepare bank reconciliations and support monthly management accounts, budgets and financial reporting. Process financial transactions and support cash-flow monitoring, banking and expenditure control. Maintain accurate member financial records and support member account administration. Support statutory compliance, internal controls, audit preparation and implementation of audit recommendations. Coordinate routine administrative and operational activities, including procurement, office supplies, assets and service providers. Maintain accurate records in the Cooperative’s accounting and financial management systems. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should possess: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent recognized accounting qualification. At least two (2) years of relevant experience in accounting, finance and/or operations. Practical experience using accounting or financial management systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, reconciliation, organizational and financial reporting skills. A professional accounting qualification or progress towards one will be an added advantage. Experience in a SACCO, cooperative, financial institution or microfinance organization will be an added advantage.
