ZAMBIA MEDICINES AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES AGENCY (ZAMMSA) — EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES 📋 Grade: ZMS 02 | Position: Director – Procurement (x01) The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced Zambian Nationals to fill the position of Director – Procurement (x01). Reports to: Director General Main Job Purpose: To coordinate the procurement of medicines, medical supplies, goods, services and works in order to meet the mandate of the Agency and ensure their timely availability. Main Responsibilities: Policy & Strategic Planning: Coordinate development and review of procurement policies; contribute to corporate strategy formulation. Procurement Planning: Formulate and review the annual procurement plan, aligning it with approved budgets and statutory ZPPA provisions. Procurement of Medicines & Supplies: Oversee national procurement of medicines, medical supplies, laboratory equipment, and general goods/services. Contract Management: Coordinate procurement contracts management, ensuring strict adherence to statutory and contractual provisions. Clearing & Forwarding: Coordinate the clearing and forwarding process to ensure goods are cleared and delivered on time, minimising supply chain bottlenecks. Leadership: Direct procurement operations, prepare budgets, manage PMS performance, and lead departmental personnel. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Full Grade 12 School Certificate. Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing and Supply, CIPS Level 6, or equivalent. A qualification in Pharmaceutical Supply Chain will be an added advantage. Minimum of 8 years’ work experience, 4 of which must be at senior management level. Full membership of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
