ZAMBIA MEDICINES AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES AGENCY (ZAMMSA) — EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES 🔍 Grade: ZMS 02 | Position: Director – Internal Controls (x01) The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced Zambian Nationals to fill the position of Director – Internal Controls (x01). Reports to: Director General Main Job Purpose: To coordinate the development and implementation of robust internal audit and risk management strategies in order to provide risk-based, objective and reasonable assurance on governance and internal controls as well as identify potential risks and proactively mitigate against them. Main Responsibilities: Audit & Risk Strategy: Coordinate development and execution of risk-based internal audit plans, policies, and internal control frameworks. Internal Audit & Reporting: Direct comprehensive audits of operations, procurement, financials, inventory, and supply chain; prepare audit reports for Board and Management. Enterprise Risk Management: Profile and assess operational, clinical supply, financial, and strategic risks to safeguard Agency assets and medicines. Compliance & Fraud Prevention: Monitor regulatory compliance and implement rigorous anti-fraud detection, investigation, and prevention mechanisms. Advisory & Training: Provide strategic risk insights to executive leadership; conduct institutional training on governance and risk awareness. Leadership: Direct Internal Controls staff, coordinate departmental budgets, and monitor PMS performance. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Full Grade 12 School Certificate. Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Full CA Zambia, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is an added advantage. Active member of ZICA / Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Minimum of 8 years’ work experience, 4 of which must be at senior management level.
