The Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka Golf Tournament has been held at Lusaka Golf Club, attracting 72 golfers ahead of the 2026 Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka, scheduled to run from October 19 to 23 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.
Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary, Hapenga Kabeta, said the ZAMII Golf Tournament provides an opportunity for stakeholders in the mining industry, the investment community and cooperating partners to strengthen relationships and exchange ideas ahead of the Insaka.
Officiating at the event today, Dr Kabeta called for stronger partnerships between the government, mining companies and other stakeholders to unlock the full potential of Zambia’s mining sector.
Dr Kabeta said increased investment, responsible mining practices and value addition to mineral resources are critical to driving economic growth, creating jobs and promoting industrial development.
He expressed optimism that the spirit of collaboration demonstrated at the golf tournament would continue during the 2026 Mining and Investment Insaka and future editions.
Dr Kabeta added that discussions at the Insaka should focus on identifying investment opportunities, addressing challenges affecting the sector and developing strategies to maximise the benefits of Zambia’s mineral resources.
He further stressed the need to increase the participation of Zambian businesses in the mining industry and promote value addition within the country.
Meanwhile, Lusaka Golf Club President, Pravin Patel, said the Insaka Corporate Golf Tournament provides an opportunity for stakeholders in the mining, investment and corporate sectors to build relationships and explore partnerships that can contribute to Zambia’s economic growth.
Mr Patel noted that golf offers a platform for stakeholders to interact outside the boardroom, fostering trust, friendship and business partnerships in a relaxed environment.
