Wicknell and Lulu Chivayo Set to Be Interred in Executive Granite Vault Graves

Two executive granite-encased vault graves have been prepared for Wicknell and Lulu Chivayo at Sahwira Glen Forest Memorial Park in a show of opulence.
The pair will rest in the famed Royal Estate which is part of the memorial park.
Sahwira workers have already finalised the polished grey granite lining that has become a signature of high-end burials among Zimbabwe’s elite.
Unlike ordinary graves lined with farm bricks and cement, these are fully granite-encased vaults. Both the interior walls and the top coping are clad in thick, polished grey granite — cut and polished off-site and then meticulously installed on site. The finish is reflective and seamless, designed to prevent soil collapse, block water seepage and preserve the resting place permanently.
The vaults are identical and sit side-by-side on manicured green lawn under a white canopy, indicating a planned double interment.
For wealthy families like the Chivayos, granite vault graves are more than burial holes — they are houses for eternity. Such a vault costs between $3,000 and $6,000 for the granite work alone, before funeral costs.
The granite encasing ensures the grave never caves in, never needs re-digging and stands as a permanent monument. It is a final statement of love, legacy and status — that even in interment, Wicknell and Lulu Chivayo will rest in executive style.
