President Hichilema said Zambia’s previous programme with the IMF was successfully concluded in January 2026.
The Head of State said Government reiterated that growth is critical to the economy, noting that a new programme with the IMF is complementary to the Grow Zambia Agenda.
He called on the Fund to support the agenda.
Meanwhile, President Hichilema also bade farewell to the outgoing IMF Resident Representative, Mr. Eric Lautier, who has concluded his tour of duty, and thanked him for his service to the country.
He welcomed his successor, Mr. Reginald Darius.
President Hichilema said the IMF remains a key partner in Zambia’s development agenda.
