Medical doctor Dr Aaron Mujajati has urged men aged 40 and above experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED) to seek professional medical attention rather than resorting to unverified remedies or risky alternatives.
In a message raising awareness about men’s sexual health, Dr Mujajati highlighted erectile dysfunction as a challenge that many men in Zambia experience but rarely discuss openly because of embarrassment, fear and anxiety.
Under the headline “Pwanya Something Won’t Fix It: Why Men Over 40 Need Proper Care,” Dr Mujajati explained that some men begin experiencing difficulties getting or maintaining an erection as they grow older, a situation that can affect their confidence, relationships and general sense of well-being.
He noted that erectile dysfunction becomes more common after the age of 40, stressing that the condition should not be viewed as a curse or punishment, but as a medical condition that can be managed with appropriate support.

Dr Mujajati cautioned men against resorting to risky methods commonly referred to as “pwanya something,” warning that such approaches may cause more harm than good.
Instead, he encouraged men experiencing the condition to seek professional medical assistance rather than suffer in silence or experiment with unsafe remedies.
“Seeking help is not a sign of weakness, it is a step toward reclaiming your health, confidence, and joy,” Dr Mujajati emphasised.
He also highlighted the importance of confidential and professional care, pointing to CarePeak Specialist Clinic as a facility offering medical support for men dealing with erectile dysfunction.
According to his message, the clinic provides medical professionals who understand the challenges men face and offer solutions tailored to individual needs.
Dr Mujajati further encouraged men not to allow erectile dysfunction to define their lives, noting that with proper care, they can work towards restoring their confidence and intimacy without the constant anxiety associated with the condition.
His message serves as a reminder that men’s sexual health should be treated as an important part of overall well-being and that seeking medical advice is preferable to relying on potentially unsafe alternatives.
By encouraging open conversations and professional intervention, Dr Mujajati hopes to challenge the stigma surrounding erectile dysfunction and motivate more men, particularly those over 40, to take their health concerns seriously.
