ZAMBIA and China have signed the Exchange of Notes for the construction of the new office building for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The Exchange of Notes was signed on October 8, 2026 by Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, Mr. Han Jing, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, SC, MP, on behalf of their respective governments. Ambassador Han said the traditional friendship between China and Zambia is time-honoured and has continued to grow in recent years. He noted that the office building project is a concrete measure to implement the important consensus reached by the two Heads of State and the “Ten Partnership Actions” of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He assured that China will work closely with the Zambian Government to promote early implementation of the project. Meanwhile, Hon. Haimbe expressed gratitude to the Chinese Government for its continued support to Zambia’s economic and social development. He said the office building project is of great importance to Zambia and is a vivid manifestation of the China-Zambia Comprehensive Strategic and Cooperative Partnership. Zambia, he said, is willing to work with China to continue promoting new progress in bilateral relations.
