Elevate Your Career. | Position: Statistician (Grade: NPS 05) The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) invites applications from suitably qualified and analytical individuals for the position of Statistician (NPS 05). Job Purpose: The Statistician is responsible for collecting, processing, modeling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical datasets to support actuarial evaluations, demographic profiling of members, compliance monitoring, and strategic policy formulation across the Authority. Key Responsibilities: Design statistical methodologies and frameworks for gathering, analyzing, and validating scheme contribution and benefit data. Perform data mining, predictive modeling, and statistical trend analysis to support actuarial valuations and risk assessments. Transform complex operational and economic datasets into actionable insights, dashboards, and strategic management reports. Evaluate membership growth rates, compliance trends, informal sector penetration, and demographic patterns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data governance, quality assurance, and statistical integrity. Contribute to corporate research, policy papers, and periodic publications on national social security trends. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Grade 12 Certificate with Five (5) “O” Levels, including credit or better in Mathematics and English. Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Demography, Data Science, or related quantitative discipline. Membership to a relevant professional body (such as the Statistical Association of Zambia or equivalent) is an added advantage. Minimum of Three (3) years of proven practical experience in statistical analysis, data analytics, or research. Proficiency in statistical packages and analytical software (SPSS, R, Python, STATA, advanced MS Excel).
