Kaoma Pentecostal Assemblies of God Reverend Progress Chifuwe during his exaltation thanked God for safely leading Zambia through all the 62years from 1964 to date just like he led the Israelites from Egypt through the wilderness into the promised land.
He noted that through it all, the nation has grown economically, democratically and spiritually through the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation, while enjoying peace.
Reading the scripture in both Deuteronomy 8 verse 2 and Psalms 33 verse 12, Reverend Chifuwe implored Kaoma residents to reflect on what God has done for them in all the 62 years and remember where they have come from, where they are and focus on where they are going as a country and appreciate God for his love and mercies.
“Pose and look back to where we are coming from as our Journey, where we are as our growth and where we’re going is our future. God has led Zambia through the wilderness for 62 years from 1964 to date just like he led the Israelites from Egypt into Canaan”.
“The peace, calmness, economic growth, and democracy show that as a nation we’re in the hands of God. So let us remember where we are coming from because forgetfulness is the killer of gratitude,” Reverend Chifuwe said.
Kaoma Town Council Chairperson, Kausheni Mupishi, Council Secretary, Kate Mukonde, Kaoma Council Director of Human Resource and Administration, Liswaniso Kabwela, District Operations Joint Committee members, Outgoing Kaoma District Administrative Officer (DAO), Mishengo Mishengo and the Acting DAO, Ilinanga Makoba were among the notable people at the event.
Former Kaoma District Commissioner, Liale Mubanga, United Party for National Development Kaoma District Chairperson, Andrew Kakumbi and other party members, Councilors as well as the general public were also in attendance.
The event was characterised by entertainment from Kaoma secondary school brass band, Luena Barracks brass band and Pop band respectively.
