ZAMBIA Air Force (ZAF) Commander Lieutenant General Oscar Nyoni has handed over a Toyota Mark X vehicle to Red Arrows head coach Chisi Mbewe.
The vehicle is part of the ZAF fleet allocated to various sections, including the Red Arrows head coach and assistant coach.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Lieutenant General Nyoni said more vehicles would be allocated to other personnel as funds became available.
He commended Mbewe for his patience and resilience in leading the team.
The handover comes after Red Arrows made history by qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Lieutenant General Nyoni challenged the team to go beyond the group stage and secure a place in the knockout phase of the competition.
Receiving the vehicle, Warrant Officer Class Two Chisi Mbewe thanked the ZAF command for the gesture and pledged to continue working hard.
Mbewe said the technical bench had taken note of the command’s directive to advance beyond the group stage and would work towards achieving that objective.
He said the team’s target was to progress to the knockout stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
