Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa has underscored the government’s focus on the safe, efficient and sustainable movement of people and goods, describing it as the lifeblood of Zambia’s economy.

Mr Kangwa said the government’s vision is to establish safer roads and efficient, resilient logistics networks across the country.

He was speaking at the unveiling of the ninth-generation Toyota Hilux at Toyota Zambia last night.

Mr Kangwa said the new Hilux embodies these principles and represents a milestone that aligns with the core objectives of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics.

He also thanked the business community, describing it as the backbone of an economy that depends on robust and reliable transport solutions.

“As Secretary to the Cabinet, my primary focus is the safe, efficient and sustainable movement of people and goods. This is the lifeblood of our economy,” he said.

CFAO Mobility Zambia Chief Executive Officer, Dino Bianchi commended the government for the continued support through progressive policies, legislation frameworks and investments that strengthen the transport and automotive industries in the country.

Mr Bianchi said industry growth depends on an enabling environment in which businesses can thrive and contribute to national development.

Earlier, CFAO Mobility Zambia Chief Operating Officer Peter Blomefield said the Hilux is a partner to businesses in mining, agriculture and construction, as well as enterprises of all sizes.

“From the Copperbelt and North-Western Province to remote farming communities and urban centres,” he said.
