Newly appointed Muchinga Province Minister Jairo Simbeye has pledged to accelerate development in the province through hard work, collaboration and inclusive leadership.
‎
‎Mr Simbeye says sustainable development can only be achieved through strong partnerships among Government institutions, stakeholders and the citizens.
‎
‎Speaking during a welcoming ceremony held at the Provincial Administration in Chinsali, Mr Simbeye stated that he would promote teamwork and ensure that all stakeholders are involved in the implementation of Government programmes under the Grow Zambia Agenda.
‎
‎He stressed the need for unity and mutual respect regardless of political affiliation, noting that meaningful development can only be realised through collective effort.
‎
‎”I wish to thank President Hakainde Hichilema for according me this opportunity to serve the people of Muchinga Province at this level, and I will not take this opportunity for granted,” he added.
‎
‎Mr Simbeye, who is also a Nkombwa Constituency Member of Parliament in Isoka District, further assured the people of Muchinga Province that he would serve with dignity, impartiality and diligence.
‎
‎He also thanked residents of the province for the warm welcome and emphasised the need for enhanced service delivery from civil servants across the province.
‎
‎And Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary Tuesday Bwalya, described Mr Simbeye’s appointment as a commendable decision by the Head of State, noting that the Minister is familiar with the challenges affecting the province’s development.
‎
‎Dr Bwalya said the Minister’s understanding of the region would place him in a better position to address developmental concerns.
‎
‎He noted that Muchinga Province has lagged behind in certain areas of development and expressed confidence that the Minister’s political leadership would help unlock support for both stalled and new projects.
‎
‎”As Provincial Administration, we are delighted to welcome you and assure you of our full support as we work together to improve the livelihoods of our people through the Grow Zambia Agenda,” he said.
‎
‎Dr Bwalya further stated that the Minister’s support would be instrumental in enhancing the province’s contribution to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), particularly through the commercialisation and expansion of the gold mining sector.
