Mporokoso Town Council has completed the construction of a roundabout in the District at a cost of over K98,000 using the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The roundabout was among several projects approved for implementation under the 2026 CDF.
Speaking during an inspection of the completed works, Mporokoso Town Council Assistant Director of Engineering Patson Chisanga commended the contractor for the quality of workmanship exhibited on the project.
Mr Chisanga said the local authority was satisfied with the finished works, adding that the project had been successfully completed.
“We are very happy with the finished works on the Mporokoso Roundabout. The contractor has done a good job on this project,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mporokoso Town Council Public Relations Officer Martha Nakamba says the local authority plans to install road signage along the four routes connecting to the roundabout to guide motorists.
Ms Nakamba explained that the road signage was not included in the initial project cost of K98,714 but would be installed as part of efforts to improve traffic direction and safety.
She has since appealed to members of the public to protect the infrastructure from vandalism and avoid littering the surrounding area.
Ms Nakamba said the roundabout has enhanced the appearance of Mporokoso town, and urged residents to take collective responsibility for maintaining its cleanliness and beauty.
