Stella Maris Okafor, the widow of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband as he would have turned 64.

The actor’s wife shared a touching video featuring herself and their children on social media to mark his posthumous birthday, expressing how deeply she continues to miss him.

Reflecting on life after his death, Stella admitted that although life has continued, things have never been the same without him. She also made it clear that despite the pain of losing him, she would still choose to share her life with him if given another opportunity.

Describing the memories and love they shared, the grieving widow said she often thinks of her husband whenever she looks at the stars, believing that he is watching over her and their children.

She further revealed that the pain of his absence remains with her every day, but the love he left in her heart continues to live on.

In her heartfelt message, Stella wrote:

“My husband,

On your posthumous birthday.

Every time I look at the stars, I know that’s where you’ll be.

Shining like you always do.

And watching over them and me.

Although the pain I’m feeling is with me every day.

The love you left inside my heart will never go away.

Life goes on without you, but it will never be the same, and if I had my time once more, I’d do it all again.

We may not be able to spend time together anymore, but I want you to know you are always on my mind.

Lots of love and hugs from here on Earth.

Happy Birthday.”

Mr Ibu, one of Nigeria’s beloved comic actors, died on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62, leaving behind family members, colleagues and fans who continue to remember his contributions to the Nigerian movie industry
