EMMANUEL JAY JAY BANDA CAPTURED IN MOZAMBIQUE, SAYS EMMANUEL MWAMBA.

Toonse Pamodzi Alliance Chairperson for Media Emmanuel Mwamba says fugitive former Petauke Central Member of Parliament Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda has been captured by Zambian authorities in Mozambique.

Mr. Mwamba says Mr. Banda was hiding in Mozambique before he was apprehended last night.

According to Mr. Mwamba, three vehicles arrived at Mr. Banda’s hideout, where Zambian police officers were seen.

However, Mr. Mwamba says he cannot confirm whether Mr. Banda is alive or dead, amid speculation surrounding his reported capture.

“I can confirm that Jay Jay Banda has been captured by Zambian authorities. He was not in Zimbabwe but in Mozambique, where he was hiding. I know he was previously in Zimbabwe, but he had since moved to Mozambique. Three vehicles pulled up at his hideout and took him,” Mr. Mwamba said during his live broadcast.

Mr. Banda has been a controversial figure in Zambian politics, with reports of him making threats against President Hakainde Hichilema and predicting that the Head of State would not complete his term in office.

However, the circumstances surrounding his reported capture, including his current condition and whereabouts, remain unconfirmed.
