“For those struggling to do the maths, allow me to help you connect the dots. Yes, I was a TEEN STAR when I gave you hits like Sunsha and Maloza. In my early 20s, I gave you more hits, including Why Swililili and Walilowelela!” she wrote.

The singer also referenced some of her industry seniors and mentors, including Danny Kaya, who recently celebrated his 47th birthday and JK, saying they belong to the same age group as her elder brother, Albert Mukape.

Giving further family context, Mampi mentioned her three older siblings, her late sisters Carol and Gladys and her immediate older brother, Steve. She also referred to Brigadier General Mwizukanji Namwawa as her big sister, noting that she is not yet 45.

Humorously responding to those trying to establish her age, she said:

“Imwe, even my big sister, Brigadier General Mwizukanji Namwawa, isn’t 45 yet! So surely, you can connect the dots! Mwavutika maningi nama years yanga! Nichani chavuta?”

Mampi concluded by making it clear that she has embraced her age and is content with her life.

“40, blessed, fulfilled and HAPPY!” she declared.
