Mungwi District Education Standards Officer (DESO) Musa Mulemwa, has warned pupils against engaging in examinations malpractices.
Mr. Mulemwa sounded the warning when he officiated at the second graduation ceremony for Grade Twelve pupils and the honours day for deserving learners and teachers at Peas Kabuta Secondary School.
He called on pupils in examination classes to desist from any form of examination malpractice so they can obtain results that genuinely reflect their academic capabilities.
“Approach examinations with confidence, thorough preparation and positive attitude to avoid engaging in examinations leakages,” he disclosed.
The DESO urged the pupils to uphold honesty and integrity to allow their hard work to speak for them.
” A qualification earned honestly is far more valuable than the one obtained through cheating,” Mr Mulemwa said.
And speaking earlier Peas Kabuta Secondary School Headteacher Edson Musowa declared the school’s readiness to record a single digit in grade 12 examinations.
Mr Musowa explained that the school has adequately prepared pupils.
Mr Musowa further encouraged Teachers and learners who did not receive awards to work extremely hard for their efforts to be recognised next year.
Meanwhile, Peas Kampinda Coordinator, Shadrick Mulenga said the event was being celebrated under the theme: Rooted in value, ready for the world: knowledge, character and service,”
Mr Mulenga noted that the theme goes beyond passing examinations but must produce individuals who are knowledgeable, disciplined, honest and ready to serve the nation.
” The school will always strive to develop learners who excel academically while upholding strong moral values,” he narrated.
And School Head Boy Bright Mushi in his vote of thanks said learners were prepared to sit for the examinations and pass.
He also thanked school authorities for imparting knowledge and skills to help them fit into society as they wait for the results to come out
