A-94-year-old resident of Chinsali District, Mukuka Chifwamba, has expressed delight with the developmental transformation the district has undergone since the country attained Independence.

Mr Chifwamba says Chinsali has recorded significant infrastructure development over the years through successive government policies.

He explained that in the past, the district lacked modern infrastructure, quality healthcare services and a good road network, noting that the situation has improved.

“At 94 years, I am happy to witness this development that had been missing for many years and I wish to commend all the Governments that have played a part in this progress, including President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration, which has improved the education sector, social welfare services and developmental policies among others,” he said.

Mr Chifwamba observed that Chinsali being the birthplace of Zambia’s First Republican President, Kenneth Kaunda and several prominent freedom fighters, deserves continued development befitting its historical significance of the country’s liberation struggle.

Meanwhile, a Chinsali youth, Innocent Sunkutu called on youths in the district to embrace and preserve the legacy of Chinsali as the country celebrates its 62nd Independence Anniversary this month.
