🚨BAD NEWS FOR THOSE WHO RECEIVED CARS FROM SIR WICKNELL?*
Reports circulating online claim that some of the cars gifted by the late Sir Wicknell Chivayo may not have been fully paid for.
According to the unverified reports, Sir Wicknell allegedly did not settle the full balance on some vehicles he bought from car dealerships to gift to artists, influencers, church members and socialites.
Sources claim that dealerships are now considering recovering the vehicles or demanding the outstanding balances from the current holders of the cars.
This means people who received cars could be at risk of losing them.
The reports allege that several luxury cars and Toyota Aquas gifted in recent months still had outstanding payments at the time of Sir Wicknell’s tragic passing in the helicopter crash on 30 September.
If true, the dealerships have a legal right to repossess unpaid vehicles, regardless of who is currently driving them.
WHAT SHOULD BENEFICIARIES DO?
- Check your vehicle registration and ownership papers.
- Confirm with the dealership if the car was fully paid for.
- Seek legal advice before any repossession.
The Chivayo family and Sir Wicknell’s companies have not yet issued an official statement on this matter.
At the time of publishing, no dealership has publicly confirmed that they will be repossessing any gifted cars.
We will update you as soon as official confirmation is received.
