Private Sector Development Association Chairperson Yusuf Dodia has disclosed to Zambian Business Times-ZBT that the 2027 National Budget is expected to hit K300 billion up from K253.1 billion for 2026.

Speaking in an interview with ZBT Dodia based his estimation on the fact that in 2026 Zambia initial National Budget stood at K253.1 billion, with the first supplementary budget of K26 billion and the recently proposed second supplementary budget estimated at K19.9 billion pending parliamentary approval.

” My expectations for the 2027 National Budget is that the total amount will be above K300 billion, which prompts the government to look for more money to be able to finance various fiscal agenda,” said Dodia.

He added that already the Zambia Revenue Authority is expecting to collect K185 billion and the question is on what approach will be taken in increasing revenue collection.

” In 2026 the Zambia Revenue Authority is targeting to collect K185 Billion, which now should be an exercise the government must focus on carefully for them to be able to see whether these numbers will be added going forward”, said Dodia.
