Position: Stores Officer

Job Purpose:
To manage the receipt, storage, issuing, recording, and control of company inventory to ensure that materials, spare parts, tools, and other supplies are available when required and that accurate stock records are maintained at all times.



Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive incoming raw materials, engineering spares, and consumables; verify quantities, descriptions, and specifications against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Inspect received materials for visible damage, discrepancies, or incorrect specifications and report irregularities immediately.
Record all stock receipts, issues, returns, transfers, and adjustments accurately in the enterprise inventory management system.
Issue materials and spare parts strictly against approved store requisitions and established company authorization procedures.
Conduct routine cycle counts and periodic physical inventory stocktaking exercises.
Reconcile physical stock balances with system records and investigate causes of variances.
Maintain audit-ready inventory documentation and generate regular stock reports.
Coordinate with procurement, finance, maintenance, and production departments to support efficient materials planning.
Assist with internal and external inventory audits and implement approved corrective actions.




Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Diploma or Certificate in Stores Management, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.
Minimum of one (1) year's experience in a stores, warehouse, or inventory control environment (manufacturing industry experience is an advantage).
Working knowledge of stock control procedures, BIN cards, and inventory documentation.
Proficient computer literacy, including spreadsheet applications (Excel) and inventory software systems.
Understanding of warehouse occupational health and safety standards.
