Position: Electrician

Job Purpose:
To install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment, power systems, and plant installations to support safe, reliable, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.



Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical machinery, industrial wiring, control panels, electric motors, lighting, and power distribution systems.
Diagnose electrical faults rapidly using appropriate testing instruments, multimeters, and approved troubleshooting techniques.
Carry out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance in accordance with maintenance schedules and work orders.
Inspect electrical components for defects, insulation breakdown, overheating, loose connections, and potential electrical hazards.
Assist in the maintenance and overhaul of AC/DC electric motors, variable speed drives (VFDs), distribution boards, and switchgear.
Test electrical installations and machinery following repairs or new installations to verify safe and optimal operation.
Collaborate with mechanical fitters, automation engineers, and production teams to resolve equipment issues.
Apply approved electrical isolation and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures strictly before working on equipment.
Ensure all electrical work complies with company procedures, Zambian wiring standards, and occupational health and safety rules.




Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering (TEVETA Level 4 or recognized equivalent).
Minimum of two (2) years' practical experience in industrial electrical installation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis.
Industrial or manufacturing plant experience is highly desirable.
Valid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) is an added advantage.
Strong commitment to high safety standards and clean workmanship.
