ASSISTANT COMPLIANCE AND MEMBERSHIP OFFICER JOB PURPOSE The Assistant Compliance and Membership Officer will provide operational and administrative support in the implementation of the Institute’s membership, compliance, professional registration and regulatory functions. The position will assist in ensuring that members and regulated practitioners comply with the Institute’s statutory, regulatory and professional requirements, while providing efficient and responsive membership services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Working under the supervision of the Compliance and Membership Manager, the specific responsibilities of the Assistant Compliance and Membership Officer shall be: a) Assist in the processing of new membership applications, renewals, and upgrades. b) Provide exceptional customer service by promptly and professionally resolving member inquiries via email, phone, and in person. c) Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance policies and procedures. d) Assist in the issuance of practicing licenses and ensure members are registered in the appropriate membership categories. e) Support the Education and Training unit with student registration and exemption applications as needed. f) Assist in the preparation of periodic membership and compliance reports. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Applicants must possess the following qualifications and attributes: a) Full Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) credits, including Mathematics and English. b) A Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Business Development Studies or another relevant discipline from a recognized institution. c) A minimum of two (2) years of progressive work experience in a membership management, compliance, customer service, or administrative role within a professional body or regulatory authority is preferred. d) Must be a paid-up member of a relevant professional body. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES a) Understanding of the ZIPS Act No. 29 of 2025 is an added advantage. b) Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or membership management systems. c) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. d) Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service. e) High level of integrity, honesty, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion. f) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
