CAREER OPPORTUNITY – ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT Mopani Copper Mines PLC has operations in Mufulira and Kitwe on the copperbelt Province in Zambia. The Company Seeks the Services of Artisan Foreman Plant Fitter x 1 Job Purpose The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following: Ensure that all maintenance, repair and installation work under their control is performed to the required standards and in compliance with Mopani maintenance procedures, engineering standards and mine safety Codes of Practice. Supervise and coordinate the activities of subordinates engaged in plant fitting maintenance, repair and installation work to ensure quality workmanship and timely completion of scheduled tasks. Train, coach and develop subordinates through on-the-job instruction, guidance and systematic exposure to relevant tasks and procedures. Identify material, tools, equipment and labour requirements and allocate resources in accordance with approved work schedules. Ensure that routine and planned maintenance activities are carried out effectively and efficiently to maintain plant availability and minimise production losses. Maintain effective liaison with operating personnel, service teams, superiors and subordinates to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruption to production. Ensure that subordinates comply with established safety rules, statutory requirements and safe working procedures to prevent accidents, injuries and damage to company property. Identify and recommend improvements to plant fitting methods, maintenance procedures and work practices to enhance equipment reliability, sectional performance and productivity. To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements: Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent. Craft Certificate in Plant Fitting. Minimum of 3 years’ experience. Have good oral and written communication skills. Computer literacy will be an added advantage. Be registered with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ). All academic qualifications should be verified and certified by Zambia Qualifications Authority. The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
