Zambia Police Service Deputy Inspector General for Administration, Charity Munganga, has reiterated the Service’s unwavering commitment to professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the execution of their duties.

Ms Munganga says effective policing lies in upholding the Constitution, respecting human rights, and maintaining impartiality in all operations.

Speaking when she paid a courtesy call on Northern Province Acting Permanent Secretary, Beauty Undi-Phiri, Ms Munganga said her visit to the province forms part of a nationwide tour aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and reinforcing discipline.

Ms Munganga emphasized that leadership within the Police Service is not a privilege for personal gain but a sacred trust that must be exercised responsibly.

“Every officer, regardless of rank, must remember that the badge we wear represents public trust. Any abuse of power or deviation from our code of conduct will not be tolerated,” she stated.

Ms Munganga further commended the Police command and officers in the province for ensuring peace and security in the August 13, 2026 general elections.

And Northern Province Acting Permanent Secretary, Beauty Undi-Phiri has praised the Zambia Police Service in the region for their unwavering professionalism and dedication to duty.

Ms Undi-Phiri noted that the conduct of Police Officers in the August general elections demonstrated integrity, discipline, and respect for human rights, which has helped strengthen public confidence in law enforcement.

She highlighted that the officers’ commitment to fair and impartial service delivery has been particularly evident during community engagements, crime prevention patrols, and the handling of sensitive cases.

“Our Police Officers have shown that professionalism is not just about wearing the uniform, but about serving with honesty, fairness, and respect for the law, which has not only enhanced security but also fostered trust between the Police and communities they serve,” she said.

She further urged officers to continue maintaining high standards of professionalism as the province continues to address emerging security challenges.

Ms Undi-Phiri has also called on the public to work closely with the Police by providing timely information to help prevent crime.
