The implementation of projects under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Kasenengwa District, Eastern province is reported to be progressing well.

Kasenengwa Town Council Assistant Public Relations Officer Kamela Ntambo told the media in an interview that the council is currently implementing a number of projects from different components of CDF.

Ms Ntambo explained that under the community projects component, the local authority is constructing six 1 by 2 classroom blocks across six wards.

“These projects are from different components of CDF, and so under community projects we have six 1 by 2 CRBs in six different wards across the district”, she highlighted.

She revealed that the classroom blocks are being constructed at a total cost of 850, 000 Kwacha each.

Ms Ntambo explained that of these only one has been completed while others are still under construction, ranging between 80 and 90 percent completion levels.

She added that the local authority has installed solar lighting in five health facilities at a total cost of K400, 000, using the 2026 CDF allocation.

“Using the 2026 CDF we have installed solar lighting in five health facilities at a sum of 400, 000 which is currently at 100 percent completion”, she explained.

Ms Ntambo cited Kawawa, Chinunda, Mkowe, Kanzutu and Chiwoko as the health facilities that have had solar lighting installed using CDF this year.

She further explained that the local authority is also constructing a staff house at Zungula primary school in Chingazi ward at a cost of K650, 000 and that it is 80 percent complete.
