Zambian football fans have a busy weekend ahead as the 2026 Transitional Super League continues with fixtures that could help shape the early standings and test the ambitions of several clubs.
One of Saturday’s notable matches sees Nkana host newly promoted Makeni All Stars at Nkana Stadium. Nkana opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Trident FC and will be looking to build on that result in front of their supporters.
Makeni All Stars, meanwhile, have an opportunity to test themselves against one of Zambia’s established football clubs after earning promotion. The meeting offers an early indication of how the newcomers intend to approach the challenges of top-flight football.
Another fixture attracting attention is the meeting between Zesco United and Green Eagles in Ndola. Green Eagles made an impressive start to the campaign with a 4-1 victory over Mufulira Wanderers, while Zesco United drew 1-1 with Kabwe Warriors in their opening match.

Sunday’s programme includes a meeting between defending champions Power Dynamos and Nchanga Rangers, as well as Zanaco against Konkola Blades.
For Power Dynamos, the match offers an opportunity to respond after their opening-weekend defeat to Konkola Blades. Zanaco, meanwhile, will face a Konkola Blades side that has already demonstrated its ability to compete against strong opposition.
Other fixtures include FC Muza against Kansanshi Dynamos, Trident against NAPSA Stars, Kabwe Warriors against Mutondo Stars, Nkwazi against Chirundu United, Red Arrows against Mufulira Wanderers and Roan United against Green Buffaloes.
The weekend comes early in the transitional campaign, meaning teams still have plenty of time to build momentum. Nevertheless, strong performances can help establish confidence, while another disappointing result could increase pressure on clubs seeking to improve their position.
For supporters, the matches offer a chance to assess new signings, tactical approaches and the consistency of teams that began the season with contrasting results.
With established clubs facing ambitious opponents and early pace-setters looking to maintain their momentum, the weekend could provide useful clues about how the campaign is developing.
