Ukraine Pushes Back Against Trump Over Calls for Zelensky’s Removal

Ukraine has firmly responded to U.S. President Donald Trump following his reported call for Volodymyr Zelensky to be removed from power, insisting that the country’s leadership must be determined exclusively by the Ukrainian people.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha defended Zelensky, arguing that the Ukrainian president has legitimate public support and deserves backing from international partners rather than public criticism.

Kyiv urged Washington to respect Ukraine’s internal political affairs and its right to determine its own leadership.

The exchange highlights growing tensions between Kyiv and Washington over Ukraine’s political future and the direction of U.S. support amid the ongoing war with Russia.
