The United Kingdom (UK) has welcomed the new composition of the National Assembly particularly for women and youths.
Speaking in an interview with the media shortly after the official opening of the National Assembly by President Hakainde Hichilema, British High Commissioner to Zambia, Rebecca Terzeon, said the United Kingdom is happy with the inclusion of women and youths in Zambia’s National Assembly, through mixed member proportional representation.
Ms Terzeon indicated that the United Kingdom looks forward to witnessing the National Assembly under the new arrangement contribute to the governance of the country.
She assured that the UK is ready to partner with Zambia as the country embarks on the Grow Zambia Agenda.
Meanwhile, ZICTA Director General, Collins Mbulo, welcomed the President’s call for Zambia to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI).
