PEOPLE CALLING FOR PRESIDENTIAL TERM LIMITS REMOVAL ARE EXERCISING FREEDOM OF SPEECH – UPND

UPND Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa told Phoenix News that individuals commenting on the matter are exercising their constitutional right to freedom of expression.

Mr Mweetwa said the party is regrouping following the recently concluded elections and will in due course communicate its official position on key national issues.

Meanwhile, SACCORD has warned against attempts to remove the two-term presidential limit following the launch of the Western Province-led “Project 2090” campaign.

SACCORD Executive Director Arthur Muyunda told Phoenix News that Zambia is a constitutional democracy and that term limits help prevent the concentration of political power.
