Government has commended Health Learners in Muchinga Province for its commitment to continue constructing Health Rooms in Isoka district.

Muchinga Province Principal Education Standards Officer, Himoonde Nzila, says the initiative is complementing the government’s efforts to improve learner welfare and create a conducive learning environment.

Mr Nzila said this when he inspected the construction and operation of Health Rooms in selected schools in Isoka district.

Mr Nzila has urged school authorities to ensure that all remaining facilities under construction are completed by October 2026.

He commended Healthy Learners for supporting the education sector, noting that the facilities would help address the welfare needs of learners in schools.

Mr Nzila said school authorities had a responsibility to ensure that construction works were completed within the stipulated time frame to enable learners to benefit from the facilities.

“We want to see the remaining health rooms completed by October 15, 2026, so that learners can begin benefiting from these facilities,” Mr Nzila said.

Meanwhile, Health Learners Head of Technical Assistance and Government Relations, Catherine Samiselo, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to complementing Government efforts to improve learner welfare through the construction of health rooms in schools.

Ms Samiselo said the organisation would continue working with Government and other stakeholders to support interventions aimed at improving the learning environment.

She said the construction of health rooms was part of Health Learners’ commitment to addressing the needs of learners and ensuring that schools had facilities that supported their welfare.

Ms Samiselo said the organisation was keen to see the completed health rooms operationalised to ensure that learners could access the intended benefits.

She added that Health Learners would continue supporting initiatives that contribute to improved education and learner welfare in Isoka District.
