Luanshya Municipal Council has directed vendors trading on roadsides, pavements and streets to move to designated markets by Sunday, October 18, 2026.
In a public notice issued today, Luanshya Town Clerk, Collins Ndilema said the directive also applies to vendors operating in other areas not designated for trading.
Mr Ndilema warned that vendors who remain in those areas after the deadline may face enforcement action in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
He advised vendors seeking market space to visit the council’s Housing and Social Services Offices, under the Markets and Bus Stations Section, for guidance on the availability and allocation of trading spaces.
“The Council is appealing to all street vendors to cooperate with this directive as part of its efforts to promote orderly trading, maintain public hygiene, ensure safety and keep streets clean and accessible,” he said.
Mr Ndilema has urged affected vendors to use the remaining days to relocate their businesses.
