Kabompo District Surveillance Officer, Graham Mafulo says the district has received over 46,000 long lasting insecticide treated nets to be distributed to communities in the area under the End Malaria campaign.

Speaking during the stakeholders’ meeting, Mr Mafula says the District Health Office received 46, 140 insecticide treated nets and the distribution exercise will commence on October 6, 2026.

He said the treated nets will be distributed to communities of Kabompo during the mass distribution campaign.

Mr Mafula said Kabompo has high malaria cases in five wards, appealing to stakeholders for more sensitization on the utilisation of mosquito nets by community members.

“The District Health Office received 46,140 long lasting insecticide treated nets to be distributed among communities of Kabompo next week during the mass distribution campaign to end Malaria in Zambia,” Mr Mafulo said.

And Kabompo District Commissioner, Hubert Chinyanga in a speech read on his behalf by District Administrative Officer, Darius Kahinga called for collaboration among various stakeholders in the district in the fight against Malaria.

Mr Chinyanga said a successful distribution of the insecticide treated nets for the 2026 End Malaria Campaign is dependent on stakeholders’ support.

“A successful distribution of the insecticide treated nets for the 2026 end Malaria campaign depends on stakeholders’ support as a service to the people to end Malaria in Kabompo,” he said.

He also urged stakeholders in the district to be front liners in the end Malaria campaign and thanked World Vision for the financial support.
