Court Finds RAPHAEL NAKACINDA with Case to Answer

The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has found Patriotic Front –PF- faction Secretary-General RAPHAEL NAKACINDA with a case to answer.

This is in a matter in which Mr. NAKACINDA is accused of alleging that the Government was committing genocide by importing maize and mealie-meal allegedly contaminated with aflatoxins.

Magistrate MWANDU SAKALA ruled that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against Mr. NAKACINDA, warranting him to be placed on his defence.

Meanwhile, Mr. NAKACINDA’s lawyer, MALUZA CHONGOLA, has informed the court that his client intends to give sworn evidence and call 10 witnesses in support of his defence.

Magistrate SAKALA subsequently adjourned the matter to December 22, 2026, for commencement of the defence.

The court also directed the defence to ensure that it concludes presenting its case by February 2027.

Mr. NAKACINDA is facing one count of seditious practices, contrary to the laws of Zambia.
