Zambia women’s National team will play against Uganda in the 2028 Los Angeles Qualifier at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola at 18:00hrs today.

Chipolopolo Soccer Fans Association Chairman and football analyst Yotham Mwanza said the Copper Queens must approach the match with a clear strategy, starting with scoring an early goal to level the tie.

 Mwanza said the team should remain focused on finding a winning goal while ensuring that Uganda does not score first and complicate Zambia’s qualification hopes.

He said the encounter was an important assignment for the Copper Queens, whose ambition is to represent Zambia at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

“What is at stake is an important assignment, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games,” Mr Mwanza said.

He also stressed the importance of fan support, describing supporters as an integral part of the team’s performance.

Copper Queens face Uganda in Olympic qualifier

 

“A fan is the twelfth player in any given game,” he said.

Mwanza has therefore urged Zambian football fans to turn out in large numbers at the stadium to rally behind the Copper Queens as they seek to overturn the first leg deficit.

Meanwhile Lusaka football fan Tiyane Mwandila highlighted the importance of leadership and composure during the game.

“This is a very critical game for the girls and they need to be relaxed and composed because it will really help them,” he said.

Mwandila added that good leadership on and off the field will be needed to manage emotions as the games progresses.
