Chilanga Town Council has sworn- in three Councillors elected under the Mixed Member Proportional Representation (MMPR) system.
The new Councillors include Precious Mulenga for Women representation, Kampata Banda for persons with disabilities and Gift Banda representing youths.
In an interview with ZANIS shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, Mr Banda said he will champion policies that uplift persons with disabilities in the district.
“I look forward to representing persons with disabilities effectively and contributing to national development,” Mr Banda said.
And Youth Representative, Gift Banda pledged to support the Grow Zambia Agenda and foster development in Chilanga District.
The swearing-in brings the special representation of women, youths and persons with disabilities at the local authority as provided for under the MMPR electoral system.
