Presidential photographer Chellah Tukuta has lamented that some Presidential appointees – Cabinet Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and District Commissioners have neglected to rise to the occasion and defend the President whenever he has come under attack from the opposition.

“There’s no way you can be watching your President being disrespected, being called names and being insulted everyday and you are just there enjoying the fruits and the benefits of the appointments he gave you….” charges Tukuta.

The camera man has hit the bull’s eye! The conduct of most of these government officials leaves much to be desired. Most of them are reluctant to put their necks on the chopping board for the President for fear of being pursued in future for whatever wrongs they may have committed.

Such misgivings and frustrations were equally shared with us by a Chingola-based senior clergyman when we had a meeting with him in his office.

“How come senior government officials choose to remain silent when the President is being abused and attacked daily,” wondered the pastor. “Could it be because they’re eating with both hands or their hands have come dirty?”

We are left with no choice but to keep reminding the President that he’s on HIS OWN. He needs to urgently audit those he’s working with to establish their loyalty and commitment to help him realise his Grow Zambia Agenda otherwise some of them don’t mean well at all.

When we as concerned members of the public came up with a mass movement, HH Mpaka 2O31 People’s Alliance whose mission is to help defend and protect the President from unnecessary attacks, we sought appointments with most government officials to gather the necessary data so as to engage the media or the public better equipped. But lo and behold, most of them weren’t willing to interact with us let alone picking up our calls and yet we’ve going extra miles defending the President!

Clean up the system before it’s too late, Sir.

Thank you,

Prince Bill M. Kaping’a
Secretary General
