Sales Development Officer Company: Zambia Sugar Plc Department: Commercial Location: Zambia (applicants must be willing and ready to work from any part of the country) Employment: Permanent, Full Time Positions: 1 Zambia Sugar Plc, an ABF Group sugar company and Zambia’s leading sugar producer, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the successful candidate will execute sales strategies, develop customer relationships and lead local sales representatives within an assigned territory. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS • Execute the ABF Sales Service Offering and Perfect Store Guideline for resellers, stockists, artisanal traders, HORECA, grocers and supermarkets. • Support sales forecasts and territory targets by tracking performance and identifying improvements. • Manage outlet-level customer relationships across the first and last mile and coordinate with Logistics and Finance. • Validate customer and call information recorded through the Sales Force Automation tool. • Grow sales volumes through effective sales calls and profit conversations. • Monitor market trends, competitors, trade quality standards, opportunities and risks. • Support the Last Mile Reseller strategy to increase sugar accessibility, affordability and availability. • Lead Local Area Representatives and merchandisers in implementing VAPP, the ABF Sales Service Offering and Perfect Store Guidelines. • Align local representatives with area sales plans, assign territories, customers and schedules, and monitor compliance. • Authenticate Last Mile Reseller delivery notes for accurate and timely transport-claim payments. • Plan sales routes and manage third-party providers and team performance. • Promote and comply with business procedures covering SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE • Full Grade 12 Certificate. • Higher Diploma in Business Administration. • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Marketing is an added advantage. • Preferably five years’ sales and marketing experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry. • Business acumen, customer focus, assertive communication, influencing and negotiation skills. • Teamwork, planning, time-management, drive and the ability to learn quickly. • Clean and valid driver’s licence; a manual-driving licence is an added advantage. • Certificates must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
