LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE COMMISSION — VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT 🏛️📜 Post: Chief Internal Auditor | Grade: F/M3 | Location: Various District Councils The Local Government Service Commission is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant post existing in various District Councils. Post Title: Chief Internal Auditor Grade: F/M3 Salary: Within the range of F salary segment Location: Various District Councils, Malawi Employment Type: Full-Time Experience and Educational Qualifications: Applicants must be serving Principal Internal Auditors (Grade G/M4) or Principal Accountants (Grade G/M4) with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience at that grade in local authorities and must be in possession a bachelor’s degree in Internal Auditing, Business Administration/Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Chartered Accountant or equivalent from accredited institutions. Must be a member of accounting/internal auditing regulatory bodies i.e. ICAM, ACCA, CIMA, IIA etc. Duties and Responsibilities: Execute audit exercises in the Council basing on the routine and perceived need. Advise management on proper financial procedures and controls. Prepare audit reports and recommend improvements in the handling of funds at the Council. Carry out special audit as requested by management. Evaluate accounting and internal control systems within the Council. Develop and institute internal control systems. Develop appropriate stores/Accounting procedures for the Council. Verify cash against receipts. Check the correctness of voucher costing in the Ledgers. Check all registers against items entered and stored.
