CHOPPIES ZAMBIA — SILVEREST JOB VACANCIES Choppies Supermarkets is looking for a skilled and dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our bakery team at the Silverest branch. Job Role: Bakery Assistant Location: Silverest, Lusaka, Zambia Employment Type: Full-Time Responsibilities: To provide efficient, quality customer retention and service. Assist in preparing doughs, batters, and filling for breads, cakes, pastries and other baked goods. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace. Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Serve customers; weigh, package, and label bakery items; give advice on baking and preparation. Keep all work areas spotless at all times. Sharpen and clean knives; operate cutting machinery safely for bakery use. Display baked goods attractively in windows or cabinets. Maintain cleanliness in the work area, assist with customer service, and ensure proper labeling and display of bakery products. Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12 Certificate). Bakery production certification. 1 to 2 years of experience in bakery production. Basic knowledge in bakery/confectioner food preparation. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Physical fitness and ability to work at heights. Candidate should be medically fit. Skills, Abilities & Attributes: Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to stay calm and focused. Strong interpersonal skills. Supervisory skills – ability to train employees to use time efficiently and to be uncompromising regarding service delivery.
