JOB OPPORTUNITY: ACCIDENT & REPAIRS OFFICER Company: Macroworld Services Limited (MWS) Location: Lusaka, Zambia Position: Accident & Repairs Officer Number of Positions: 2 Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Fleet Manager Salary: Competitive, based on experience Application Deadline: 12 October 2026 JOB SUMMARY Macroworld Services Limited is looking for two disciplined, proactive, and well-organized Accident & Repairs Officers to support the Company’s vehicle repair coordination, accident management, spare-parts procurement, workshop follow-up, and fleet reliability. The successful candidates will be responsible for receiving repair and fault reports from drivers, coordinating repairs, sourcing and procuring automotive spare parts, assigning work to mechanics and workshops, following up repairs, and ensuring vehicles are returned to operation safely and within reasonable timelines. The role also includes coordinating accident-related processes, liaising with police stations, insurers, assessors, panel beaters, garages, drivers, car owners, and other relevant parties. The position requires regular field work, strong follow-up, sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to manage several repair and accident cases simultaneously. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Repairs Coordination Receive and document vehicle fault, breakdown, damage, and repair reports from drivers and fleet personnel. Arrange vehicle inspections and determine the appropriate repair action. Assign approved repairs to Company mechanics, external mechanics, garages, workshops, electricians, panel beaters, and other service providers. Coordinate repairs from initial reporting through diagnosis, approval, repair completion, inspection, and return to operations. Source and procure automotive spare parts, consumables, and maintenance materials from suitable suppliers. Obtain and compare quotations based on price, quality, suitability, availability, and warranty. Exercise sound judgment and ensure value for money when purchasing spare parts or recommending repair expenditure. Follow up mechanics, garages, workshops, and suppliers to ensure repairs are completed within agreed timelines. Verify completed repairs before vehicles are returned to operations. Take and collect vehicles from repair garages, panel beaters, workshops, drivers, car owners, and other authorized locations. Conduct routine and follow-up vehicle inspections and maintain accurate repair, quotation, invoice, job-card, and downtime records. Report suspected driver negligence, misuse, poor workmanship, inflated quotations, overcharging, or other repair-related irregularities. Accident Coordination Receive, document, and follow up vehicle accident and incident reports. Obtain accident information, photographs, police documentation, and other required supporting records. Attend police stations and undertake accident-related errands, including lodging, collecting, and following up police reports and statements. Liaise with insurers, assessors, police officers, panel beaters, garages, drivers, car owners, and Management. Track accident cases from initial reporting through police documentation, assessment, repairs, vehicle release, and redeployment. Coordinate the movement of accident-damaged vehicles to police stations, assessors, panel beaters, garages, and other approved locations. Follow up accident-related quotations, assessments, repairs, invoices, and insurance documentation. Maintain complete and accurate accident records and provide regular status updates to Management. Field and Fleet Support Conduct regular field visits to garages, workshops, panel beaters, suppliers, police stations, driver locations, and car-owner locations. Conduct driver home-pin verification visits where required. Collect, deliver, and move vehicles for repairs, inspections, assessments, handovers, and other authorized operational purposes. Follow up vehicles that remain parked or under repair and escalate unnecessary delays affecting vehicle uptime. Safeguard vehicles, keys, documents, spare parts, and other Company or vehicle-owner property entrusted to the officer. Perform other related accident, repair, and fleet duties reasonably assigned by Management. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Applicants must have: At least 2 years of relevant experience in vehicle repairs coordination, fleet operations, accident management, workshop or garage coordination, transport operations, insurance claims, procurement, or a related field. A Diploma or Degree in Transport and Logistics, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Fleet Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Operations Management, Accounting, Purchasing and Supply, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, or another relevant field. Practical understanding of vehicle repairs, maintenance, breakdowns, accident handling, and vehicle inspections. Ability to source automotive spare parts, obtain quotations, and assess repair costs. Ability and willingness to undertake regular field work. Good communication, negotiation, follow-up, reporting, and record-keeping skills. Ability to manage several repair and accident cases simultaneously. Strong integrity, accountability, and attention to detail. Computer literacy and ability to maintain operational records and prepare basic reports. ADDED ADVANTAGE A valid driver’s licence — mandatory. Experience in taxi, ride-hailing, car-rental, transport, or logistics fleet operations. Experience dealing with police reports, insurers, insurance assessors, garages, and panel beaters. Familiarity with Japanese vehicles commonly used in taxi operations. Experience sourcing automotive spare parts and dealing with auto-spares suppliers. Basic automotive or mechanical knowledge.
